The web outage report compiler Downdetector recorded an uptick in complaints from users across the world, with hundreds of reports being registered per country. Many users complained that ChatGPT responses were not being generated, which the company also noted.

ChatGPT users in the U.S. and India were among those who were affected by the outage, per Downdetector. Many affected users took to social media platforms such as X to voice their confusion.

OpenAI listed 23 affected components on its status web page, including login, web, desktop, mobile (both iOS and Android), WhatsApp, search, file uploads, image generation, and more.
