While OnePlus has yet to officially announce the launch date, we might start seeing teasers in the coming weeks.
Oneplus 13 Design and Display
The OnePlus 13 is anticipated to bring notable changes to its design. Unlike its predecessors, which featured a circular camera setup, the new model is rumored to sport vertically stacked rear cameras located in the top-left corner. This shift is accompanied by a wider ring around one of the cameras, adding a fresh look to the device. The camera module is expected to feature Hasselblad branding, a significant change from the OnePlus 12 series.
Design details have been hinted at by Digital Chat Station, a trusted source on Weibo. The phone is also expected to incorporate a quad-curved OLED display, similar to the Honor 200 Pro, which should enhance the phone’s premium appearance while addressing issues like ghost touch. The display will likely be a 6.7 to 6.8-inch 2K panel with a 120Hz refresh rate, offering brighter and more accurate colors compared to its predecessor. It will also likely be protected by the latest Corning Gorilla Glass.
Oneplus 13 Performance and Storage
Under the hood, the OnePlus 13 is set to feature Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset, succeeding the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. This new chip is expected to provide significant improvements in both single-core and multi-core performance. The device might offer up to 16GB of RAM and up to 1TB of internal storage, ensuring robust performance and ample space for apps and media.
Camera Upgrades
The camera setup on the OnePlus 13 is projected to include a triple rear camera system: a 50MP primary sensor, a 64MP 3x telephoto lens, and a 48MP ultrawide camera. Despite similar hardware to the OnePlus 12, improvements in image processing are expected to enhance overall camera performance. Given OnePlus’s partnership with Oppo, which is known for its advanced camera technology, the OnePlus 13 might inherit some features from Oppo’s Find X7 Ultra, such as high-resolution sensors and advanced zoom capabilities.
Battery and Charging
The OnePlus 13 is rumored to come with a 6,000mAh battery, the largest ever seen on a OnePlus device. It will likely support 100W fast charging, though it might lack wireless and reverse wireless charging capabilities. The smartphone is expected to ship with Android 15 and OxygenOS 15, offering a host of new customization features. Users can also anticipate at least four years of software updates and six years of security patches. Additional features might include an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor, stereo speakers, 5G connectivity, Wi-Fi 7, and Bluetooth 5.4 or higher.
Pricing and Availability
In India, the OnePlus 13 is expected to be priced upwards of Rs 60,000. If the speculation holds true, the phone will likely be available first in China before launching in India and other markets. The official unveiling is anticipated in November or December 2024.
As with all rumors, these details should be taken with caution until confirmed by OnePlus.
