Google has been consistent with its product lineup and new innovations. Adding more flavour to the foldable phone competition, the company has introduced the latest Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold. Building on the foundation of last year’s Pixel 9 Pro Fold, the new model refines nearly every aspect, from design and performance to AI integration, making it Google’s most mature foldable yet. Compared to its predecessor, the phone comes with upgrades in its display brightness, durability, and camera suite while introducing IP68 dust and water resistance, a first for any foldable Pixel. However, it will be interesting to see where the new Pixel 10 Pro finds itself when compared to the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Vivo X Fold 5.
Design
Google’s design evolution is subtle yet significant this year. The Pixel 10 Pro Fold feels sleeker and more refined, adopting a spacecraft-grade aluminium frame with a silky matte back finish that resists fingerprints beautifully. At 258 grams, it’s slightly heavier than Samsung Z Fold 7 (215g) and Vivo Fold 5 (217g), but the distribution of weight feels balanced. The satin finish and rounded edges make it comfortable to hold, while the hinge mechanism has been redesigned for smoother folding and minimal wobble. Google’s multi-alloy steel hinge with aerospace-grade aluminium cover adds a reassuring sturdiness that rivals the Vivo’s droplet hinge, though the Vivo still leads in crease minimisation.
Unfolded, the Pixel 10 Pro Fold presents a clean, symmetrical design with slim bezels and a near-gapless fold. The outer 6.4-inch Actua Display blends seamlessly with the frame, giving it a modern aesthetic that feels both premium and professional. The hinge action feels softer than before, less resistance than the Pixel 9 Pro Fold and more fluid in everyday use. The ports and buttons are placed intuitively, with tactile volume controls and a sturdy power button on the right. The phone also supports USB-C 3.2, ensuring faster data transfer speeds.
Where Google clearly steps ahead is in durability. The IP68 rating is a standout, offering better dust and water resistance than both the IP48-rated Galaxy Z Fold 7 and the Vivo X Fold 5’s IPX9 protection. It’s also made with sustainability in mind, using recycled aluminium, copper, gold, and cobalt across its structure. The attention to materials gives the Pixel 10 Pro Fold an eco-conscious yet premium aura. While it’s not the slimmest foldable, it feels the most solid and reassuring in hand, something Samsung and Vivo still trade off for thinness.

Display
The display experience on the Pixel 10 Pro Fold is stellar. The outer 6.4-inch Actua display offers a 1080×2364 OLED resolution at 120 Hz, reaching a peak brightness of 3,000 nits, a boost from the 2,700 nits on last year’s model. It’s slightly larger than Samsung’s 6.5-inch screen but far brighter, outshining both the Fold 7 and the Vivo X Fold 5 in different contexts. Indoors, the colours are vivid, and the adaptive brightness control adjusts swiftly, making reading and video playback comfortable in all lighting conditions.
The real showstopper remains the 8-inch Super Actua Flex inner display. With a 2076 x 2152 resolution, LTPO 1–120 Hz refresh rate, and ultra-thin glass layer, it delivers fluid animations and crisp detail. The crease is still faintly visible but less noticeable than on the Pixel 9 Pro Fold. HDR content looks immersive, aided by the 24-bit colour depth and deep contrast ratio. Compared to the Vivo’s larger 8.03-inch display, Google’s panel feels more colour-accurate, while Samsung’s AMOLED still holds a slight edge in energy efficiency. For most users, the Pixel 10 Pro Fold offers the most balanced visual experience among the three, blending brightness, contrast, and touch responsiveness effortlessly.
OS and AI
Running Android 16, the Pixel 10 Pro Fold brings Google’s latest AI integration to the forefront. The in-built Gemini Nano and Gemini Live assistants make the phone feel intuitive in daily use, offering real-time summarisation, translation, and contextual screen interactions. Features like Circle to Search, Pixel Screenshots, Magic Cue, and Reimagine showcase Google’s software finesse, allowing users to edit, query, and multitask with ease. The experience is fluid, with apps optimised perfectly for the foldable form factor.
In comparison, Samsung’s One UI 8 on Android 16 remains the best for multitasking with its persistent taskbar and Flex Mode, but Google’s take feels cleaner and less cluttered. Vivo’s Funtouch OS 15 (on Android 15) trails slightly behind in polish and AI depth, focusing more on productivity features like floating windows. What sets the Pixel apart is its seamless integration of AI into daily workflows, it doesn’t just feel like an assistant; it feels like part of the operating system.
Performance
The latest Pixel 10 Pro Fold comes with the same Google’s new Tensor G5 processor, as seen in Pixel 10 and Pixel 10 Pro. The processor is supported by 16 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. The chipset focuses heavily on AI and image processing rather than raw benchmark dominance. Compared to the Tensor G4 in last year’s model, the G5 runs cooler and more efficiently, thanks to a 4nm architecture and improved machine learning cores. During testing, multitasking across multiple apps was fluid, and animations were consistently smooth.
Interestingly, the phone does not support the Geekbench app, a surprising omission considering the Pixel 10 Pro XL and standard Pixel 10 do. However, on Antutu, it scored 1486598, which, while trailing behind Samsung’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Elite for Galaxy and Vivo’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, still ensures excellent day-to-day performance. Gaming performance was also commendable with titles running smoothly at high frame rates without noticeable thermal throttling.
Google’s strength continues to be optimisation. Apps open instantly, and switching between folded and unfolded modes happens seamlessly. AI-driven performance boosts are evident in image editing, speech recognition, and contextual predictions. While the Tensor G5 might not dethrone Snapdragon chips in benchmarks, in real-world usage, it feels just as capable, especially for users who rely on Google’s ecosystem and AI features.
Camera
Like the rest of the Pixel 10 family, the Pixel 10 Pro Fold shines brightest in its camera department. It features a triple rear setup: a 48 MP wide, 10.5 MP ultrawide with macro focus, and a 10.8 MP telephoto with 5x optical zoom and Super Res Zoom up to 20x. True to Pixel DNA, images look lively yet natural, with AI refining rather than overprocessing. The new Reimagine and Magic Eraser tools help fine-tune shots post-capture, but what truly stands out is how authentic the photos appear, the colours match real-life scenes closely, something even Samsung’s camera occasionally oversaturates.

Low-light performance is exceptional. The Night Sight mode captures remarkable detail and accurate shadows, rivaling Samsung’s Nightography. Portrait shots are crisp, with the subject separation handled beautifully, and the background blur looks cinematic. Even tricky lighting scenarios were managed well, thanks to Google’s HDR+ and Tensor G5’s AI tuning.

Both front and inner 10 MP selfie cameras deliver sharp, true-to-tone images, enhanced by Real Tone and Face Unblur features. Selfies in low light retained excellent detail, and dual-screen preview made framing easier when using the rear cameras. In video, the Pixel 10 Pro Fold records 4K at 60fps with features like Video Boost, Night Sight Video, and Audio Magic Eraser, resulting in smoother, more cinematic clips than before. Compared to the Vivo X Fold 5’s Zeiss-tuned optics, Google’s images feel more neutral and realistic, while Samsung’s Fold 7 still excels slightly in zoom performance. But overall, the Pixel 10 Pro Fold sets the bar for foldable photography.

Battery
Battery life has received a welcome bump in Pixel 10 Pro Fold. The 5,015 mAh cell outlasts last year’s 4,650 mAh unit by nearly 15%. During testing, it comfortably lasted a full day of mixed use, calls, gaming, camera, and streaming, with around 20% left by night. Extreme Battery Saver can extend this up to 84 hours, making it one of the most power-efficient Pixels yet.
Charging, however, remains modest at 30W wired and 15W wireless (Qi2 certified). This lags behind Vivo’s blazing 80W wired and 40W wireless speeds and even Samsung’s 25W charging. A full charge takes around 90 minutes, but on the bright side, thermal management is excellent, and wireless charging finally feels faster thanks to Qi2 support. In day-to-day use, the endurance feels strong enough for power users, even if charging speed isn’t record-breaking.
Verdict
Priced at ₹1,72,999, the Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold stands out as Google’s most refined foldable yet. Priced competitively against the ₹1,74,999 Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 and the ₹1,49,999 Vivo X Fold 5, it positions itself between the two, offering the cleanest software, smartest AI features, and a set of reliable camera experience of the trio.
Yes, it’s a bit heavier, and charging speeds could improve, but its IP68 durability, sustainable materials, and seamless Android 16 integration make it a compelling all-rounder. For users who value photography, AI, and long-term software support (seven years guaranteed), the Pixel 10 Pro Fold comes across as one of the most complete foldable phones.
