Nothing Phone 3a series launch is scheduled for March 4 in which it is expected that two smartphones: Phone 3a and Phone 3a Pro, will make their way to the global audiences. With processor and camera details being already disclosed by the brand, an ‘Essential Key’ is also generating a lot of buzz in the tech space

Nothing’s ‘Essential Key’, reportedly a hardware feature in the Phone 3a series, could be the answer to Apple’s Action Button.

The London-based tech startup already gave hint on X (formerly Twitter) about the Essential Space, which gets activated from the right panel of the phone, through a press of a button (Essential Key, hopefully).

The Essential Space, an AI-powered hub, is expected to use Nothings’ custom AI to launch the app and with the help of Essential Key, users can trigger screenshot, take voice notes or click pictures.

It is speculated that the Essential Key will capture and send content to Essential Space, the long-press of it can record a voice note, and double-tap takes you to your saved content in the app. Native camera app also seems customisable with the Key.

With the gradual roll out of the updates, it is also believed that Nothing will add flip to record, smart collections and focused search with the Essential Key.

However, the ‘Essential Key’ deeper customisation will be known post the launch of Phone 3a series. It is likely to come in both the phones.
