The feature also supports digital key sharing, enabling users to grant temporary access to friends or family and manage permissions remotely.
According to Madhur Chaturvedi, Senior Director, Services & Apps Business at Samsung India, the expansion reflects the company’s efforts to enhance connectivity and convenience across the Galaxy ecosystem. “Our partnership with Mahindra marks another step toward making everyday activities, like driving, more seamless for Galaxy users,” he said.
Nalinikanth Gollagunta, CEO of Mahindra’s Automotive Division and Executive Director of Mahindra Electric Automobile Ltd., noted that the partnership builds on Mahindra’s push for innovation in its electric lineup. “Our Electric Origin SUVs—the XEV 9e and BE 6—are designed around advanced technology and future-ready design. The integration of Samsung’s Digital Car Key is yet another step toward enhancing that experience,” he said.
For security, users can remotely lock their device or erase data, including the digital key, using Samsung’s Find service if the phone is lost or stolen. Access to the key also requires biometric or PIN authentication, safeguarded by Samsung Knox security.
Samsung Wallet acts as a central hub for digital keys, payment methods, and identification cards, combining convenience with defense-grade protection.The Digital Car Key feature for select Mahindra electric SUVs is expected to roll out in India soon.
